Can we keep it real for a second Spartans? Did we really think that this team was going to go undefeated? Were we expecting this season to be a cakewalk without any flaws whatsoever? Excitement was in the air at Spartan Stadium for Friday’s opening game between No. 17 Michigan State and Youngstown State, but many Spartan fans began to put down their heads and ponder a few things after the first quarter.

Was this the same team that won a share of the Big Ten title last year? Is this a team ranked in the top 25 of the nation? More importantly, was this team going to win against an, unranked, mediocre Youngstown State? The Michigan State Spartans Shock the College Football World

Ok, is this really happening? It seems as though every week many of us ask that very question and every week all of us get the same answer. Yes. The Michigan State Spartans are now 8-0 with their win Saturday against the Northwestern Wildcats, continuing to shock the college football world.


M.S.U. vs. Illinois

This homecoming weekend the Michigan State Spartans (6-0) will host the Illinois Fighting Illini (3-2) in a historically lopsided match-up. Michigan State has won 10 of the last 11 meetings between the two teams and looks to extend this streak even further on Saturday.


“Little Big Brother”

Two women wearing blue and gold hold their palms to their faces in complete disgust.  An elderly couple shake their heads as the game clock slowly diminishes in the fourth quarter. “Hail to the Victors” slowly fades away among the chanting of “boos” engulfing the Big House. Ladies and gentlemen, these were the sounds and images of Saturday’s Michigan State vs. Michigan rivalry match-up.
